Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Michael is a native of Sacramento. He attended John F. Kennedy High School where he lettered in Football, Wrestling and Tennis. Dr. Michael attended the University of California for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. At UC Irvine he received his BA in Economics and at UC San Francisco his D.D.S. degree.  In 2008 Dr. Michael joined the practice.

As a commitment to his craft, Dr. Michael is dedicated to dental education. Since 2009 he has been involved in local dental study clubs for dental professionals that help bring a more comprehensive health based approach to our community. Dr. Michael is Faculty at Spear Education in Scottsdale, AZ where he helps to teach other dentists from around the world in hands-on courses. His passion is in helping patients fully understand their current dental health, to choose the best care possible and to invest in treatment that improves their lives. Specifically he is interested in a holistic view to how your dental system affects your ability to breathe, sleep and your general health. 

Dr. Michael is a resident of the nearby Pocket-Greenhaven neighborhood. When not in the office, these days he can be found watching sports, cooking with his wife and playing with his three young children. He enjoys watching his kids perform or play sports, and smoking food on his Traeger.

Dr. Chu (“Larry”) was born in Merced, CA and briefly lived in Honolulu and San Francisco before his parents settled down in Sacramento when he was three years old. He attended local public schools in Sacramento and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. After stops at Sacramento City College and UC Davis, Dr. Chu graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry with his BS and D.D.S. degrees in 1975 at the age of 23. Dr. Chu started his dental practice shortly thereafter in November of 1975.

Dr. Chu married his wife Elaine, whom he met while in dental school (she was attending UCSF Pharmacy school at the same time). They have two sons, Patrick and Michael, which they raised here in Sacramento. When he is not at work, you can sometimes find him at his five acre ranch in Wilton, where he enjoys many interests. Some of his favorite hobbies include cooking, photography, art, golfing, fishing and shooting. Dr. Chu retired from practicing dentistry in 2023.
